Hello! Do you have any ideas for attractions for a single parent and a 12-year-old daughter who doesn't so much like thrill rides, and a 15-year-old daughter. What are some rides we could all enjoy together? Also, which value resort is most recommended?

    Hi Kurt,

You've come to the right place! I'm sure you're getting excited to plan this wonderful trip for you and your daughters. I'm happy to help to get you started.

One of the first steps of planning is always to choose your resort since many other plans will springboard off this part of the itinerary. Of all the value resorts and considering your girls' ages, I'd recommend Disney's Pop Century Resort. This fun and colorful resort is themed after the last five decades in the 20th century. With it's larger than life iconic statues of toys and fads during those times, It provides some fun photo backdrops. The Hippy Dippy Pool offers pool games and activities and the location is a little more centrally located than the All-Star value resorts.

In regards to rides and attractions that you all could enjoy together, I would have to say most all of them. It might be easier to tell you which ones to avoid. Just a few of the real "thrill" rides are Space Mountain, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, Mission: SPACE, and Test Track. Again, most everything else is a great option for you and your gals. Don't forget about the amazing shows. Walt Disney World isn't all about rides. Shows such as The Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo - The Musical are practically Broadway worthy and not to be missed.

I hope I was able to offer some insight. Be sure to purchase a planning/guidebook such as "Birnbaum Guides : Walt Disney World" or "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World". These are great resources to read a little about each attraction, restaurant, show, resorts and shopping before you get there so you have a little preparation about what to expect. Have your girls pick a few must-dos so that you know what you want to see and do with priority! That way you don't miss out on something they really wanted to do.

    Have fun!
