My ideal place for dinner when meeting a friend and our 6 kids was Ohana and T-Rex but there is no availability on the date we need. Any other suggestions for dinner outside of a park but within Disney (not the Hoop Dee Doo, backyard bbq or Aloha show?

    Hi Shannon!

There are tons of other awesome restaurants to pick from!  Looks like you might be coming during a peak time, so what I suggest is to do an online reservation search for the date and time you need and let the restaurants come up that are available.  That way, you can see what's available instead of picking specific ones that might not have an open dining time.

If you're looking for specifics, I really love Rainforest Cafe.  They are owned by Laundry's who also operate T-Rex Cafe.  There are 2 locations at Walt Disney World, one being at Downtown Disney and the other at Animal Kingdom.  You do not need park tickets to dine at the location at Animal Kingdom.  If you're looking for characters, try Cape May Cafe.  The food is great and you will see your favorite Mouse wondering around to say hi.  How about Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge?  They have good 'ole American food with a lively atmosphere.  The kids always have a good time there.

If you haven't already done so, try calling T-Rex Cafe directly.  I've been able to get reservations by calling when Disney reservations says they are booked.  You can contact them by calling (407) 828-TREX.

    Have a magical day!
