Hi Deborah!
You should consider a 2 bedroom
Disney Deluxe Villa, which is expensive, or 2 connecting standard rooms at a Disney Deluxe, Moderate, or Value Resort. You should also consider a cabin at Fort Wilderness or a Family Suite at the All-Star Resort. However, I usually don't recommend Fort Wilderness to first time visitors because that is a very large campground with an internal bus system, causing guests to have to take multiple Disney buses a lot of times to get somewhere. I also personally prefer 2 connecting standard rooms over the Family Suite.
Disney Deluxe Villas are absolutely spectacular. They are Disney Vacation Club (DVC) units that can be rented by non-DVC members just like regular hotel rooms. A 2 bedroom unit has a lot of room: 2 bedrooms, a washer and dryer, a full kitchen, a separate living area with a pull out sofa, etc. My favorite is the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club Villas.
A less expensive option that my family has used in the past is to get two connecting rooms. We especially enjoy getting two connecting rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of Port Orleans Riverside. We love the theming of the resort, the large pool area, the availability of carriage rides, and the boat that goes from the resort to Downtown Disney. The boat ride is especially nice and relaxing at night.
Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
