Hi Janine! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park in New Orleans Square is an iconic Attraction beloved by many, my family included. It's always a must on our visits, and we can't help but sing along while riding in our Doom Buggy. We probably won't be riding into an unearthly realm, however, on our upcoming visit: The Haunted Mansion is currently closed for refurbishment. You can check the
Haunted Mansion Attraction page for updates. You can also always check the
Daily Events Schedule for a list of Attractions currently closed for refurbishment, which is subject to change. Adjust the date to see how your trip might be affected by any closures.
The official news source for the parks, the Disney Parks Blog, provided Guests with information about the exciting updates coming to the
Haunted Mansion, including that these updates would begin in January, which they have. Walls have gone up and work is being done. We don't have a firm date for reopening yet, however. We need Madame Leota more than ever! Until then, we'll wait to hear more.
I'm sorry if the news of the temporary closure is disappointing. The good news is there are plenty of favorites and new things to explore during your visit, which is right around the corner. There's always more than I can fit into a day. Visit Disney California Adventure Park to enjoy the
Lunar New Year celebration currently underway. There are festive beverages and food to try, fun activities, and entertainment to take in, all celebrating the Year of the Dragon.
Have a magical time!
Elizabeth
