    I’d like to purchase alcoholic beverages but my ID expired last month so I just got it renewed at the DMV. Will I be able to use my new temporary paper ID to purchase alcohol?

    Hey, howdy, hey, Fane!

    Now that summertime is heating up, it’s a great time for some refreshments while visiting the Disneyland Resort. Fortunately, there are many fantastic options at the Disneyland Resort.

    The following are valid forms of ID to verify a Guest’s eligibility to purchase alcoholic beverages at the Disneyland Resort:
    • An identification card issued by a governmental agency in the United States, such as a state-issued driver’s license or ID card.
    • A valid United States Armed Forces ID card that includes a date of birth and photograph of the bearer.
    • A valid original passport.

    The Disneyland Resort does not accept a temporary driver’s license, temporary ID card, or photocopy of other IDs as valid proof of eligibility to purchase alcohol. This policy aligns with guidance from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) for checking identification.

    Tony’s Tip: If your permanent ID card does not arrive before you visit the Disneyland Resort and you don’t have another accepted form of ID, I’d love to share some ideas for other amazing drinks you may still enjoy. One of my favorite drinks lately is the Cranberry Ginger Lemonade from Galactic Grill. But don’t wait too long for that one as it’s a seasonal offering. At Lamplight Lounge, the 2319 mocktail is surprisingly delicious and refreshing. If you really need to cool down, I highly recommend the Memory Refreshers from Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff. You can even place a mobile food and beverage order there. Many of my planDisney pals have enjoyed and recommended the Cold Brew Black Caf from Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and the Milk Tea drinks from Lucky Fortune Cookery. Whenever I stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, I look forward to enjoying a refreshing Lava Smoothie from the pool bar.
