Hello, Araceli! Welcome to planDisney!
A cruise with Captain Mickey sounds like a wonderful mother-and-son getaway. I know my son loves it when our spring break plans include a voyage on a Disney ship. I have good news: Disney Cruise Line does not require a notarized letter to sail with one parent. It looks like you are good to go! However, I recommend you review the
Travel Documentation necessary for your itinerary. Most Guests must present a passport or birth certificate, depending on their citizenship. Guests 16 years of age and older will also need a photo ID.
I hope this information helps put your mind at ease and you can focus on what matters most – the memories you will make with your son. Araceli, I can’t wait for you to experience all the fantastic entertainment and activities aboard the Disney Wonder. My son loves the
Twist ‘n’ Spout Slide. This double-looping water slide is fun for the young and young at heart, which means grown-ups are welcome too! Disney Cruise Line also features first-run movies at sea! Check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for movie listings and show times.
While there are so many fun activities you can do together, a big draw are the youth clubs.
Disney’s Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab are for junior sailors 3 to 12 years of age. Tweens have their own space to meet other cruisers in
Edge, and teens can chill out in
Vibe. When exploring the ship on the first day, stop by the youth clubs during open house hours to meet the counselors and investigate these interactive spaces together. When secure programming begins, grown-ups are politely “kicked out,” and the kids take over. Don’t be surprised if your son is disappointed to leave the youth spaces. Based on experience, a trip to Deck 9 for a soft-serve ice cream cone always turns a frown into a smile.
If you have any more questions before you set sail, please stop by planDisney and ask. We are delighted to help!
