Hi! I’d like to know if you are able to book character dining if you are not staying at the resort? Also what are some good recommendations?

Hi there, Annie. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for taking the time to stop by with your questions for us.

There are several Character Dining options available at the Disneyland Resort hotels. Goofy’s Kitchen is located in the Disneyland Hotel that serves up fun-filled breakfast and dinner. The Storyteller Café within Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has Mickey’s Tale of Adventures serving breakfast and brunch; meanwhile, at night you can also enjoy Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet. Another Character Dining option at the Grand Californian Hotel is the very popular Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures. It’s typically located at Napa Rose, but since it is temporarily closed for refurbishment, Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures is being held in the Trillium Room.

Annie, I’m happy to report that you do not need to be a Guest staying at the hotel for you to enjoy Character Dining at one of the restaurants. Because these fun, exciting dining experiences are very popular, it is highly recommended to make advance dining reservation

As for recommendations, it depends on which Disney characters you’re interested in interacting with. No matter which character dining option you choose, it will be an immersive and fun experience. If you’re a fan of Disney princesses, then Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures might just be right up your alley! Or if whimsical is your flair, then Goofy’s Kitchen is the place for you!

If you’re interested in dining with characters inside the park, check out Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn. It’s a wonderful way to start a magical day at the Disneyland Park!

If you have more questions, please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again. We’re happy to help!

    Sending you pixie dust,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
