    Hi Moms! I'd like to do the Castaway Cay Challenge in January 2020. Do you know when the applicable cruise will go on sale? Thanks!

    Hi Emily!

    Thanks so much for sailing by!  The Castaway Cay 5K is one of my family's favorite Disney Cruise Line activities.  This 5K race is complementary to passengers and is a great way to jump start a day at Castaway Cay.  As a runner or walker, you will have an opportunity to explore many areas of the island that are often missed by non-runners. 

    The Castaway Cay Challenge combines a runDisney 5K or longer endurance race during Marathon Weekend with a 5K at Castaway Cay on a sailing on the Disney Dream that leaves Port Canaveral the Monday following weekend. It is an incredible way to top off your running accomplishment with a special medal and a race through paradise on Disney's private island. I have crossed several runDisney marathon finish lines, and hope to be able to add a Castaway Cay challenge finish to my list!  Maybe I'll see you in 2020!  Marathon weekend is generally the second Sunday in January.  Some sailings for December and January of 2020 are currently available for booking, so I suspect  itineraries will be available shortly for your cruise.  runDisney recommends that you book your sailing before registering for the race, so keep your eyes on the Disney Cruise Line site!
