I'd like to book a character breakfast for my family. We're staying at grand floridian resort and are visiting February 14-18.

    Hiya Marie,

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your character dining question. You must be so excited to swap those Garden State views for the royal sight of Cinderella Castle shining down Main Street. Character dining is truly one of those Disney wins where everyone leaves happy. You get photos, hugs, and autographs, enjoy a great meal, and save precious park time since you are meeting characters all in one place. That is what I call a happily-ever-after.

Let’s hop right into your question. Since you are staying at the Grand Floridian, you can book dining reservations 60 days before your arrival for your entire length of stay, up to 10 nights. That means you are in luck and can start booking character dining now!

You can make reservations on the Disney website by selecting the Things to Do tab and choosing Make a Reservation. From there, you can enter your party details and filter specifically for character dining. You can also use the My Disney Experience app to book a character meal. Once logged in, start by selecting the Reserve Dining tile, next enter your party information, and select the location.  You can also filter by character dining to narrow down your search. Since you are visiting for a few days, I recommend checking a couple of different dates if you are flexible. A little flexibility can go a long way when you are chasing magical dining plans.

Now comes the really fun part, choosing who you want to dine with. If you are hoping to meet the classic crew like Mickey, Minnie, and friends, Chef Mickey’s is a fan favorite. This is located in the Contemporary Resort, which is just a short monorail ride away.  For breakfast with a seaside twist, Cape May Café is one of my family’s favorites, featuring Daisy and friends dressed in their beach best. If dining with royalty is at the top of your wish list, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT is a wonderful option where princess dreams really do come true. No matter which you choose, I am sure it will be a meal filled with lots of smiles and full bellies.

Marie, I hope this helps answer your question and gets you even more excited for your upcoming Disney adventure. If any other questions pop up while you are planning, feel free to visit us again!

    See ya real soon,
