Welcome to planDisney, Monica!
I hope you're getting excited for your trip to Disney World! Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as there is so much happening at The Most Magical Place on Earth this year. You won't want to miss any exciting announcements or updates. I'm getting SO excited for the
Disney Starlight Nighttime Parade coming this summer!
I gave a little whistle to my *frozen* friends in Arendelle (namely Olaf) and they gave me some good tips with the ice situation at Disney World! My snowy pal wanted me to let you know that you're always welcome to have ice in your drink (in fact, he recommends it as you definitely don't want to melt away in the Florida heat), so regular ice from your hotel or reusable ice cubes to keep your beverages cool inside any water bottle are permitted. Now, if you are thinking of packing ice in a cooler (remember that the cooler must not be larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high per the
Property Rules) dry ice and loose ice are not allowed. You may put your loose ice in bags to keep it contained, but reusable ice packs are the preferred method of chilling at the theme parks. Olaf gave me the inside tip to bag your reusable ice cubes if you're planning to use those in a cooler, as it will make getting through security easier, and is the preferred method by the Security Cast Members. (The Security Cast Members must inspect coolers, and loose ice -- reusable or not -- cannot be thoroughly inspected without being dumped out... So, bag that ice, please.)
While we're on the topic of all things cold, I cannot recommend
Aloha Isle at Magic Kingdom enough! This location has cold, refreshing treats that are all my VERY favorite! This is a great place to cool down on hot afternoons.
If you have additional questions before your arrival, Monica, we hope you'll visit us again at planDisney!
Stay cool,
Allyn
