Hi Marcelo,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Character dining is a wonderful way to meet the characters at Walt Disney World without waiting in line. Typically the characters will rotate through the restaurant to your table. You will get to see the characters during your meal, all while enjoying some great Disney dining! Whether you want to meet Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickey's or dine with Disney Princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table, character dining is a fun way to meet the characters.
I suggest that you go to the list of
character dining at Walt Disney World online. From there, you can choose restaurants that sound appealing to you. When you click on each restaurant, you can learn more about the particular character dining experience at that location. In order to check availability for a certain date, simply change the date that you are searching for at the top of the page. All of October 2014 is currently available to book, so you can search for any date that month. I do suggest that you do this as soon as possible, since character dining is popular and the meals do often get full. You can also call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463), and a cast member there can help you to check availability and make reservations.
As to price, it does vary from meal to meal and location to location. The meals are a little more expensive typically than you would expect for a meal with no character interaction. Also, please do know that character appearances are subject to change.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Marcelo. Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
