I had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago, but needed an emergency repair just last night. Our Disney vacation is coming up in 2 weeks! I am going to be renting a scooter to help minimize the amount of walking/standing I must do. Will I be eligible for a DAS card?

    Hi Tiffany ~

I'm sorry to hear about your surgeries and wish you a speedy recovery.

The Disability Access Service Card (DAS) is designed to assist Guests who are unable to wait in a standard queue including Guests with permanent or temporary medical conditions. If you are unable to wait in a standard queue, you may request a DAS by going to Guest Relations at any of the theme parks. A Cast Member (CM) will ask you some questions so they can best accommodate your specific needs. Here is some information about how the DAS works.

Most queues at Disney are now mainstreamed to accommodate Guests traveling in wheelchairs or EVCs. If there are queues that require Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs to enter through alternate queues, you can see a CM for assistance. Depending on the wait time, they may give you a slip of paper with a return time to come back to the attraction based on the current wait time. There aren't many of these and most of them are found at Magic Kingdom like the Tomorrowland Speedway.

Here is some information regarding attractions for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including those that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs or ECVs, those that require Guests in ECVs to transfer to wheelchairs to board and those that require Guests to be mobile to enjoy.

Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS .

Please feel free to visit with all of your questions. We are hEAR to help!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
