Hi Laura,
The
Jedi Training Academy at
Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS) is out of this world fun for kids!
The JTA stage is located next to Star Tours. Any Cast Member near that area will be able to direct you to the registration area. It isn't anything fancy or well-marked, just a Cast Member with a clipboard but they get the job done very efficiently.
Guests must be between the ages of 4 and 12 to participate in the JTA. After completing their training, each participant "battles" Darth Vader. It is held several times a day. The times will be listed on your Times Guide that you pick up along with your Guide Map when you enter DHS. The number of participants is limited and they start registration first thing in the morning and stop once the spots are filled for the day (they usually fill up fast during peak seasons). Since this is on your must do list, head that way as soon as you finish your breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. He will need to be present with you to register. They will ask him a couple of questions to make sure he can follow some basic directions.
Its a short walk from Hollywood & Vine to the JTA Stage. When you exit H&V, go left towards the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Once you pass that, keep bearing left and you can't miss it.
There will be a PhotoPass Photographer during the show getting shots of all of the participants. Following the session, be sure to stop by so that he/she can give you a slip of paper with instructions on how to get those pictures added to your Disney PhotoPass.
Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
