Welcome to planDisney, Kera!
Multigenerational visits to Walt Disney World Resort are my favorite. My in-laws became Disney Vacation Club members when my husband and I were dating, which I joke is what sealed the deal in terms of the future of our relationship. I'm glad to hEAR you have a magical mother-in-law, as well. Let's work on getting the tickets housed in her My Disney Experience account transferred to your account.
When your mother-in-law linked you and your husband's tickets to her My Disney Experience account, she either linked both tickets to herself or created account profiles with your names that are managed under her account. Understanding how the tickets are currently linked will determine your next steps so start by asking your mother-in-law to scroll down on the
My Plans page of her My Disney Experience account. If the tickets are assigned to her, proceed to Plan A. If the tickets appear to be assigned to you and your husband, skip to Plan B.
Plan A:
Your mother-in-law should click the "Reassign ticket" dropdown menu. If you and your mother-in-law are connected as
Family and Friends, she can select your name. If you are not yet connected as Family and friends, she should click "Add a Guest" --> "I'll enter their name and age" --> "Invite this Guest to Connect" (option appears once age is entered) --> enter the email address associated with your My Disney Experience account --> Done. Once you accept the email invitation to connect, your tickets will automagically transfer to your account. Repeat these steps for your husband's ticket.
Plan B:
Your mother-in-law should click "Update" next to your name as it appears on her Family and Friends list and "Share Planning with Kera." She should then enter the email address associated with your My Disney Experience account and "Continue." This will send you an email invitation to connect, similar to Plan A. Once you click "Accept" in the email, your ticket will automagically transfer to your account. Repeat these steps for your husband's ticket.
I'm so glad you thought to bring such an important question to planDisney. Don't forget to make a
theme park reservation for each park day and to determine your
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card). Please come see us again soon with any other trip-planning questions.
Choose magic,
