If my husbands schedules building a lightsaber and brings our 4yr old as his guest. Is our 4 yr old allowed to help build my husband's lightsaber? Or even the other way around, we schedule the build for our son and then have my husband help him?

Bright Suns, Janet! Welcome to planDisney.

Savi's Workshop is one of my favorite experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort. Savi's Gatherers provide an unforgettable experience, in which you will feel the Force flowing in this hidden workshop. Don't give away its location or the secrets inside to the First Order!

My son built his own lightsaber at Savi's a couple of weeks ago, so I asked him about his experience. My husband was his Guest, and my Padawan stood at the platform to build his lightsaber with my husband at a platform behind him. When he needed help, Savi's Gatherers would come to assist, but if they were all busy, my husband was able to step into my son's workspace and help him.

I want to note that this experience is recommended for ages 5 and up. The build isn't complicated, but your Padawan will likely need lots of assistance putting the lightsaber together. When it's completed, it may be as tall he is (the blade without the hilt is 34 inches), and it's pretty heavy. Most people keep them to display as a souvenir or Star Wars relic, so if your little guy would like a lightsaber to play with, I would recommend stopping by Tatooine Traders (it's at the exit to Star Tours - The Adventures Continue). There, he can build a more kid-friendly lightsaber that is also more affordable.

Savi's Workshop is an incredible experience and one I absolutely recommend for Star Wars fans. For me, the real magic of the experience is that it's, to an extent, a show. The Gatherers take you through each step of the build, telling stories with some unexpected moments woven in. My son has a Tatooine Traders lightsaber that he plays with all the time, and his Savi's is put away in its case as a special item - one of my fellow Panelists mounted a Savi's lightsaber on the wall in her son's bedroom, and it serves as a cool piece of lighting at night.

I hope all of this is helpful as you put together the plans for your visit to Batuu. Your friends here at planDisney are happy to help if you think of any more questions as you design your epic Star Wars adventure!

May the Force be with you,
    Robyn
