We’re going for my husbands 40th birthday can I pay for him to receive a birthday pin? I saw people with celebration pins last time and was curious

Hi there, Michelle, and welcome to planDisney!

When I saw you were hoping to chat about celebrating milestone birthdays at The Most Magical Place on Earth, I knew you were my kind of Mouseketeer. My husband and I will be arriving the same day to celebrate my 35th birthday with The Hall of Presidents, so we might even get the chance to celebrate together! As someone who considers the birthdays of loved ones national holidays, I'm happy to help you make your husband's extra magical!

Birthday celebration buttons are a great way to ensure that you aren't the only person celebrating your husband on his special day. The best part? They're free! These complimentary buttons can be picked up at Guest Relations locations, merchandise points of sale, or the front desk of any Disney Resort hotel. Cast Members will happily write your husband's name on the button when you pick it up, but for such a milestone birthday, I suggest utilizing the lesser-known option of having the button specially personalized by an artist at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom Park for a small fee (similar to the cost of personalizing an ornament). If your husband is anything like mine, he might be hesitant to embrace the celebration but encourage him to wear it proudly because you never know what pixie dust might befall. Throughout the day he'll be treated to 'Happy Birthdays!' from Cast Members and fellow Guests. I was even once the recipient of a slightly off-key rendition of 'Happy Birthday' by an enthusiastic Jungle Cruise skipper who noticed my festive button.

Since celebrating at Walt Disney World Resort is what I do best, I'm happy to provide a few additional suggestions so that you can maximize the magic of his day. As you check in for your dining reservations in the My Disney Experience mobile app, be sure to denote the birthday celebration when prompted. Did you know that you also have the option to order a special celebration cake for the occasion at select restaurants?

My husband and I also love to honor special occasions by booking experiences from the Enchanting Extras Collection. While a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is a special celebration in itself, these are a fun way to differentiate our celebrations from other visits. This past weekend we celebrated my husband's birthday with the Behind the Seeds Tour. As Living with the Land fanatics, this tour was such a fun yet educational experience. We even were able to feed some of the fish and taste test a greenhouse-grown cucumber. If you're looking to celebrate with experiences included in the price of theme park admission, consider his favorite attractions, characters, or Disney films and plan a day for him centered around those things.

Finally, there's no better way to cap off a day filled to the brim with birthday merriment than by enjoying one of Walt Disney World Resort's nighttime spectaculars. Whether it's Happily Ever After, Luminous, or Fantasmic!, after such a magical day of well-wishes your husband might even begin to believe it's all for him!

I hope this was helpful, Michelle, and that your husband has a wonderful birthday celebration. If you need any additional suggestions before your vacation (or for a future unbirthday celebration), feel free to stop back by. Hakuna Matata. I'm happy to help!

    See ya real soon,
