    My husband and I and our 7 yr & 5 yr old will be staying on Disney properyt, but, will already have park tickets. The Disney Dining plan states that it ican only be purchased as part of a package. How so I save on dining?

    Hi, Eileen!   The Disney Dining Plan can only be purchased as part of a Resort Package (room + tickets.)  If you would like to add the Dining, the only way to do it would be to add a one day Base Ticket to your reservation.  You would then be eligible for the Dining Plan and would have one extra day of park tickets.

    If you do not want to go this route and just stick with your tickets and not do the Dining Plan, there really are no other discounts I can suggest for you.   However, you can save money in other ways.  For example, for character meals, choose breakfast over lunch or dinner.   Breakfast is generally less expensive, and you will still have the fun of meeting all your Disney Pals!

    You can also carry drinks and snacks with you in the parks.  By refilling your own water bottles and having crackers or pretzels with you, this will save on stopping at every snack stand.   

    My family usually just has 2 main meals each day.   Usually we grab a light breakfast (muffin or fruit) then have a later lunch and later dinner.   Or we'll do a character breakfast a little later in the morning, then nobody gets hungry until dinner time.   This is not only a great way to save money on meals, but also save time from sitting for 3 full meals each day.
