My husband and I and our dog will be staying in our RV at Fort Wilderness and my daughter and family in a cabin Feb. 1-8. Any suggestions on staying there? Can we take our rented golf cart to the boat launch and let it there while we are at the MK?

Hi Brenda! Fort Wilderness Resort is one of my personal favorite places to stay at Walt Disney World. We bring our motor coach and "glamp" for a few months every fall. The cabins are my children's top spot for a resort so it works for many guests.

The cabin loops and the RV loops are separate but if you want an RV loop that is closest to the cabins request the 2100 loop if full hookup is ok for you. But with a golf cart that you mentioned it is easy to get to and from each other. There are also sidewalks throughout the entire resort and you can also use the internal bus system to get from one place to the other.

The golf carts are a lot of fun as you can easily take evening rides throughout the loops to see decorations. There will be plenty of places to park the golf carts when heading to the marina and Pioneer Hall where Trails End is located. You will need to take a boat to the Magic Kingdom as there is no other way to get to that park directly so drive down there and park the golf cart. If you wish to go to other parks or Disney Springs drive to the front of the resort where the main bus depot is located. You will see the cart parking there which is next to the bus area.

Plan on spending time at this resort too as there is so much to do. Enjoy the deer and the turkeys that freely roam the area. Make sure you enjoy the complimentary Chip and Dales Campfire Singalong each night by the Bike Barn. You might want to rent a canoe for a casual and relaxing ride around the waterways or try your hand at archery. They also offer a Segway Tour there which is really great. Book a reservation for Trails End breakfast or dinner buffet as it is a secret dining place on property. As I said there is so much to see and do this resort deserves a day on its own when you are planning your trip.

If you have any other Fort questions please feel free to ask as it is my home away from home!
