Hi! My husband,9mo old,and I will be visiting Feb 2015.We are torn between paying more for a deluxe bc of proximity to parks, or saving with a value resort. With an infant would it be worth it to go deluxe, or can we make the value work? Any suggestions?

    Hi Amanda!

We've stayed just about everywhere (location-wise) with infants, and honestly, the Deluxe Resorts are super convenient, but we've also stayed with an infant (and little ones) at Value Resorts as well.  It really comes down to travel time.  You'll definitely be using more time traveling to and from your resort, but in the end it is up to you and your budget.

When ours were much younger, we definitely headed back to our resorts for the 'big nap' of the day.  Sometimes, we made it back to the parks in the evening, other times?  We dined at our resort and played in the pool.  We've also seen the same scenario play out when we stayed at a Deluxe Resort because we had kids that needed a break.

You'll need to sit down and evaluate your budget and see what's right for your family.  You could even budget out a car rental and see if you'd come out ahead with a Value Resort versus a Deluxe Resort.  The car could potentially cut down on your travel time as well, but you'll also have the issue of packing a car seat.

When you travel with a little one, they absolutely set the pace for the vacation.  Take your time, stop and smell the roses, and enjoy those many 'firsts' that your little one will experience at Walt Disney World!

    Have a magical vacation!
