My husband, 7yr old and I will be at WDW for 3 days starting 2/16/10. Want to see 4 parks in 3 days, so time is most important. Planed on staying @ Contemporary. Now wondering if a cheaper WDWR and taking a taxi everywhere may save more time and money?

    Penny:

I can assure you that the money you'll save on taxis would be better spent on a better room with better (faster) access to the parks.

The monorail runs right through the Contemporary and can have you at the Magic Kingdom in about 17 minutes (although we prefer to simply walk) or to Epcot in about 20 minutes.  But there are other choices, and one which may be more economical and still allow you fast access to the parks.

Last week, our family enjoyed a stay at the Boardwalk Inn which is a 5-minute walk to the back gate of Epcot and a 10- to 15-minute stroll to Disney's Hollywood Studios (you can also take a 10-minute boat ride to either).  We were able to see all four parks easily.  If I were in your shoes, I'd consider looking at the Epcot resorts (Beach & Yacht Club, Boardwalk but most especially, the less-expensive Swan & Dolphin) so you can maximize the evening of the day you visit Animal Kingdom, which closes at 5 p.m.  We chose to enjoy Epcot that afternoon and evening.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
