My husband, my 2yr old (4 days shy of 3yr old) and I will be traveling that way for her birthday. What are some places you recommend to see and do while we are there? Is there a great hotel to stay at ON the premise that she can experiance more things?

Hi Linsey!  Walt Disney World is such a special place to visit for birthdays - or any day!  Make sure that you share that you will be celebrating your daughter's birthday when you make your reservations and check-in to your resort.  The cast members will want to recognize her birthday in a special way!

The Magic Kingdom is my favorite park to visit on our childrens' birthdays.  We always make the first stop at Guest Services to receive a special Birthday Celebration button to wear throughout the day.  Cast Members, and even other guests, throughout the parks will notice this and wish your daughter a happy birthday, making her feel like a true princess, and you never know what other surprises might happen!

Another way we celebrate at the Magic Kingdom is to get a special hair cut at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, U.S.A.  You can even arrange for a special treatment of "Pixie Dust"!

Or stop by The Chapeau to purchase a special set of "Mickey Ears" to celebrate the day.  And, you can make an Advanced Dining Reservation before you go for character dining at Cinderella's Royal Table or The Crystal Palace.

There are so many great resorts to choose from, it is difficult to recommend one without more information about your family's preferences.  However, the resorts closest to the Magic Kingdom are the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian which are all on the monorail route that stops at the Magic Kingdom.  The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are just a short Friendship boat or bus ride away.  All of these resorts will have special amenities and activities for the birthday girl and everyone else!

I hope you all have a super, magical birthday celebration in Walt Disney World!
