Hi! My husband, 8yr daughter and I will be in WDW10/3/12. We plan to go to Blzzard Beach and then go to MM BBQ. We want to followup with a haunted horse ride. How do we get to the BBQ from PortOFQ, what time do we leave, is the horseride close and doable?

    Hello Laura!

WOW...that sounds like an AWESOME day at Walt Disney World!  Can I come with you all?!

The best route to Mickey's Backyard BBQ from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is to take a bus from the resort to Magic Kingdom.  From Magic Kingdom, take the boat to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  I would give your family AT LEAST an hour to make sure you arrive at Mickey's Backyard BBQ on time.  I promise you will NOT want to miss one moment of this rip-roarin' good time!

The Haunted Carriage Rides are offered the month of October from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM nightly, based on availability.  The 25-minute ride leaves from the Blacksmith Shop.  It will take your family approximately 10 minutes to walk from the Fort Wilderness Pavilion (where the BBQ takes place) to the Blacksmith Shop.  Mickey's Backyard BBQ begins at 6:30 PM, and they stop serving food around 8:30 PM.  When you make your Haunted Carriage Ride reservation, make sure you make it for 9:00 PM or later.  You can make reservations by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

If you have other questions, please let me know!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
