My husband and I (young 50's) will be staying at New Orleans resort middle of April. What would you recommend for a room assignment?

    Cheryl:

I am assuming that you are staying at the Port Orleans: French Quarter resort.

My husband and I celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary there in September, and I have to say, it met my expectations and then some!  A lot had to do with our room.

Let me give you a hint: make sure and let them know if you're celebrating something: anniversary, first visit, birthday, whatever. Although our wedding anniversary is not in September, that's why were there, and we learned first-hand that if YOU'RE celebrating something, so is Disney!

I recommend a room either in Building 5, 6, or 7 overlooking the Sassagoula River.  This is one resort where the water view is worth the upgrade. A corner room is especially nice because the double windows make the room so much brighter. Our room was in Building 7 and, although it was probably the farthest room you could have, it was a very quiet room. The French Quarter resort is more compact than the others, so even a room in Building 7 is closer than most at its sister resort, Port Orleans: Riverside.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
