My husband and 2 young kids are visiting WDW for 7nts in Mid-July @ PO-Riverside. Do you have any suggestions for my husband & I on a nice evening out to relax and enjoy each others company?

My husband and I always enjoy trying one of Disney's signature restaurants during our adult time.  Our personal favorite (so far) is Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  The food and wine are both fabulous as is the service and ambiance.

If you don't have time for a nice meal out, there are some relaxing activities closer to "home" that you might enjoy.  Horse drawn carriage rides, for instance, are available at Port Orleans Riverside.  I've not had the opportunity to try this myself but I have seen others enjoying the ride through the beautiful grounds and it looks like a very pleasant experience.

You could also take the boat from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney for a sundae at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop and a bit of shopping and people watching.

Even a leisurely stroll along the Sassagoula River to Port Orleans French Quarter would be a relaxing activity and romantic to boot.  If your feet are tired from the walking through the parks you might consider renting a surrey bike and pedaling your way around Riverside.

Hopefully one of these suggestions will be the perfect low-key activity to help you and your husband unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet.  Have a great trip.

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
