Hello! My husband, 14-year-old son, 9-year-old daughter and I are all attending Micky's Halloween Party and are all dressing as pirates! My question is, are any plastic costume store pirate swords fine? What about orange tipped plastic pirate pistols?

    Hi Gina!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My family just went to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party last week and we had a fantastic time celebrating Halloween in Magic Kingdom! My family loved the trick-or-treating, special snacks, and the wonderful entertainment options that are exclusive to the party. Be sure to catch Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade as it is my favorite parade at Walt Disney World Resort!

Based on the official costume guidelines, costumes cannot contain weapons or anything that resembles weapons or that could be mistaken for a weapon. The Disney Parks Blog recently posted a very good video explaining the costume guidelines for special events, such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, that is useful in helping to understand all of the guidelines for wearing a costume to the party. To avoid any confusion or disappointment, I would recommend sticking to foam swords or toy glow swords, as they mentioned in the video, so you can trick-Arrrr-treat your way through the party!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
