My husband, 5 year old twins, and I will be spending a week at WDW the week of Halloween. We are attending MNSSH party Oct 28, but would like for the kids to dress up and trick or treat again on the 31. Are there places other than MK we could celebrate?

    Hi Mandy:

Great news that you secured tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  My children enjoy taking advantage of the short lines on rides, seeing the characters including the lesser-seen villains, strolling through the Park at night, and trick-or-treating at stops throughout the Park

While Halloween is a fun time at Disney World, outside Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, options are a bit limited.  Several years ago, Downtown Disney hosted a party and trick or treating event on Halloween, with shops and restaurants throughout Downtown Disney offering goodies during the evening hours as well as a kids' dance party. However, in 2011, this event ended as it was getting too crowded for Guest enjoyment.  Downtown Disney restaurants will still have fall menu items, and there will be seasonal decorations and enhanced entertainment during October at Downtown Disney, but the same party atmosphere and trick or treating will not be available at Downtown Disney.

Although subject to change, in the past, a handful of Resorts, particularly Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and Saratoga Springs, have presented Halloween activities, crafts and games, particularly on Halloween day. If staying on property, when you check into your Resort, ask if the Resort is hosting any Halloween themed activities, particularly on Halloween day.

    Enjoy your vacation.
