My husband and 3 1/2 year old twins will be arriving at Disney World in about 3 weeks, 2/24/13. It's our first family vacation so I'm not use to packing for all 4 of us. Any items you would consider to be an absolute necessity for their age?

Hi Michelle!  How exciting that your first Walt Disney World vacation with your twins is quickly approaching!  I remember well the days of having to pack for my kids and worrying that I would forget something important!  I will tell you that lists are your best friend!  Any time you have a thought pop into your head-write it down!  I found the best way to pack for my kids was to make an outfit -top, bottoms, undies, socks -and put the entire outfit in a large ziploc bag.  Make 1 bag for each day of your vacation per child.  It really helps to keep everything organized, and makes it so much easier to pack /unpack, and your twins can even pick their "outfit" for the day.  Also, don't forget to bring any comfort items they may need - either for sleeping or just keeping them happy during the day.  A familiar blankie or pillow can make all the difference in settling them down for the night in an unfamiliar place.  I also highly recommend dividing everyone's clothing evenly between all the suitcases - if one suitcase goes missing or is delayed, you will all still have clothes to wear and one person won't go without.  Finally, even though we hope that no one gets sick, being stuck in a hotel room without the proper medicine in the middle of the night can be every parents worst nightmare!  Be sure to pack a kit with every type of "just in case" medicine your little ones may need.  It's better to be prepared, than be scrambling or paying the higher prices in the gift shop.

P.S. - let your kids be your activity gauge for the day - everyone will have a wonderful time if no one gets over-tired or over-stimulated.  Time-outs for naps or just playing at the pool will be a necessity so that everyone enjoys their vacation to the fullest.

I hope these tips will be helpful to you!  I wish you all a very magical Walt Disney World vacation and would be happy to answer any more questions you may have.
