My husband, 3 and 7 year old are taking our first cruise Disney Fantasy in January. We are only offered 2nd seating, and are worried about our toddler being too tired. Will we be able to put him in the daycare and will he be fed there?

    Hi Kristi,

I'll be honest,  I always choose second seating for dining, even when my kids were the same ages as your children.  There is so much to do during the day (visiting ports, TRYING to get the kids out of the pools) that I really appreciate having the extra time to get ready for the evening.  I like seeing the first show, doing a little shopping afterwards and then going to dinner.  There have even been times that my family and I have been running late and we go straight to the show.  We still have enough time when it's over to go back to our room and dress for the evening.  I find it to be very convenient.  I don't like sitting in the theatre feeling uncomfortably full from dinner (which is always the case for me).  I also like a leisurely meal while I'm on vacation.  If I've already seen the show I don't have to hurry!

If you leave your toddler in the nursery in the evening they will feed him as long as you provide the food.   Remember, they have no way to refrigerate or heat food, so it should be a non-perishable.
When my kids were little, I would give them a snack around 5pm (by the pool) to tide them over until dinner.  As long as they weren't hungry, they weren't cranky.  Remember, you can order Room Service at the end of the evening if anyone is hungry.

I hope you have a wonderful trip Kristi.  Please let me know if you need anything else.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.
