My husband and I, with our 2 year old son, will be visiting WDW attractions the first part of July. Yes... it will be hot and humid I'm told. What is the best time of day to ride the Kilimanjaro Safari to see the animals alert and active?

Hi, Shannon! Similar to me, the animals are most active first thing in the morning. Unlike me, they look good without having several cups of coffee before heading out.

The further in the day it gets, the more the animals tend to gravitate away from the roadways, although it's not that significant. In fact, you'll see some variations in the activity of the animals depending on the time of day. So, if your son loves the safari, ride it again near the end of the day.

I'd recommend arriving at Animal Kingdom about 15 minutes prior to park opening. Make Kilimanjaro Safaris your first stop. Request to sit in the back row of the ride vehicle so you and your son can see animals from the back of the vehicle too.
