Hello, Miriandra! It's great to see you again here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Dressing up for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a treat for kids of all ages - but most of us "big" kids value comfort as much as cool in our costumes. Honestly, I think any costume you choose would be just fine with a good old pair of broken-in tennis shoes, but if you're interested in a little more fun in your footwear, there are plenty of possibilities to ponder. Here are a few to get your creative juices flowing:
- Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse - Yellow sneakers/flats
- Peter Pan and Tinker Bell - Tan suede boots for Peter, green flats for Tink
- Luke/Han Solo and Leia - Tan suede boots or white sneakers for him, white flats or sneakers for you
- Pirates - Tall flat boots for both
- Prince and Princess - Choose your favorite Disney Princess and wear flats to match your dress
Another idea that might be fun is to try "Disneybounding" and put together an outfit that takes inspiration from your favorite Disney characters. Disneybounding is easier and more casual than an elaborate costume, and really lends itself to dressing for comfort in the Theme Parks. To get an idea of how it works, take a look at this video featuring my fellow Panelist Jackie H. and the creator of Disneybound, Leslie Kay (and be sure to check out host Dani's yellow sneakers!).
I hope these ideas help spark your own costume creativity, Miriandra. Have a spook-tacular time at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and do stop by to see us again soon!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
