Hi! My husband and I are going to WDW October 5-10. Rain is forecasted for the week. What’s the best suggestion for keeping shoes dry? Shoe covers, waterproof spray, etc? I’m diabetic and can’t afford to walk around in wet shoes all day! Thanks so m

    ¡Hi Dana!

Thank you for visiting planDisney! We’re glad to help you and your husband prepare for your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World, especially with the rain in the forecast.

As a Floridian, I can certainly attest to the unpredictable nature of the weather here, especially when it comes to rain. It’s always best to be prepared! To keep your shoes dry during your visit, I personally recommend bringing a pair of Crocs or flip flops to change into if it starts raining. These options are lightweight and easy to slip on, allowing you to keep your feet dry and comfortable while navigating the parks.

While waterproof spray can be a good option for protecting your shoes, I'm not sure it would be effective enough to keep your feet dry in the event of a downpour. Shoe covers may work as well, but I personally have never used them. However, I can tell you that the parks have plenty of places to take cover when it rains, so you can wait it out in a dry spot while enjoying the sights around you.

Here’s a useful tip: consider renting a locker at the parks. This way, you can store extra shoes or raincoats without having to carry them around all day. It’s a great way to stay prepared for any weather changes while still enjoying all the magic of Walt Disney World.

If you have any further questions or need more assistance, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help make your visit as magical as possible, rain or shine! Enjoy your trip, and remember, planDisney is here to assist you every step of the way!

    Best wishes,
