My husband and I are wanting to plan a trip to Disney World with our 20 month old daughter. What tools can you recommend I use to help make it as cheap as possible? What time of year is cheapest? What is a realistic total cost to expect for this trip?

    Hi Krystal,

Thank you so much for bringing such a great question to the Moms Panel. I am sure it is one that is on many of our guests minds.  In fact, just today I was asked by a cashier, "Can even those on a tight budget afford a vacation to Walt Disney World?"  My answer? You bet!  I have visited on many budgets and with a little planning you will be amazed at the absolutely magical vacation your family will experience and remember forever.

First, I recommend keeping an eye on the Special Offers page of the Walt Disney World website.  Throughout the year, they offer incredible deals on select rooms, vacation packages, dining, tickets and more.  For a fun chart that has historical data of the discounts offered over the last few years, go to MouseSavers.com and search "Historical Information."  While this can help in knowing when or what has been previously offered, it is in no way meant to predict what is to come.  (Disney changes it's promotions every year.)

Next, Disney has resort accommodations to meet every budget, style and preference.  Browse through the pictures and amenities on the Resorts page of the Walt Disney World website, so you can start narrowing your options down.  I have a favorite in each category!

Cost is completely unique to the decisions you make regarding what is important to your family in a vacation.  While I can't give you a number, I do hope the information I have provided gives you a place to start.  I would love to continue assisting you in building your magical adventure, so please come back as often as you need with questions and concerns.  I'll be here!

Remember, planning is half the fun!  Your family will have a wonderful time!

    Magical Wishes,
    Lauren
