Hiya, Cindy! Welcome to planDisney. We're so happy you're here!
I'm so happy to hear that your magical trip to
Walt Disney World Resort is only a day away! After speaking with a Cast Member, I was told that your husband shouldn't have a problem bringing in a walking cane with a seat into the parks. However, just to give you a full picture, folding chairs are one of the prohibited items as part of the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules and this interpretation is left to security at the front of the park. If you need a backup plan, please know that you can always make an
ECV Rental reservation at any of the parks! If your husband also has a rollator (a form of a walker that also includes a folding seat), he is welcome to bring that as well.
Before your visit, I'd also recommend that you check out all of the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities that are available to you! When I visited with my mom last spring, it was clear that she would need mobility accommodations with all of the walking that naturally happens at Walt Disney World Resort. We were happily surprised at the ways she received support and didn't have to miss a minute of the magic!
I hope I was able to point you in the right direction today, Cindy! If you have any other questions, please write to us again, or feel free to reach out to one of the Cast Members while you're in the parks for more immediate assistance. Remember – you've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
