My husband and I will be visiting WDW in Sept, staying at POR. Due to some some walking issues we would like to request a room that is fairly close to the dining areas. Not using a wheelchair at this time. Any suggestions , Mansion or Bayou area?

Hi Jan and thanks so much for the question about my favorite Disney Resort, Port Orleans Riverside!

I just had the pleasure of staying at Port Orleans a few weeks ago, and was extremely impressed with our room assignment in the Parterre Place section which is a "Mansion" building.  Parterre Place is located just a short 5 minute scenic stroll from the main building via a picturesque foot bridge.  The main building houses the resort's dining options as well as the market and gift shop, Fulton's General Store.  The main bus stop is here as well not to mention the fact that the resort's main pool area Old Man Island is only a short stroll from the main building area and there is also a quiet pool within close proximity to Parterre as well.

Tip: If you request water view, in the Parterre section, there's a great chance that your room will face the Sassagoula River and if so, this would mean that you'll be situated a bit closer to the main building foot bridge than the standard rooms plus you'll have a gorgeous view.

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
