Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Ashley. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to hear you'll be spending Christmas day at the Walt Disney World Resort! How fa-la-la-la-fabulous!
Magic Kingdom Park is always magical, but exceptionally so during the holiday season. With holiday trimmings, seasonal entertainment, and lots of yuletide treats to enjoy, you and your family will surely experience the spirit of the season! To answer your question, it's not unusual for Magic Kingdom Park to reach capacity on Christmas day. As a mom of three, I know just how important that afternoon nap is for a little one, but I wouldn't risk leaving the park for that midday break. Not to fret! My family almost always leaves the theme parks for the afternoon, but there have been a few instances in which our littlest one had to settle for a stroller nap. Trust me, it can be done! I recommend packing a much-loved blanket or stuffie in your diaper bag. As you near typical naptime, recline your little guy's stroller seat and make sure he's nice and cozy as you start a leisurely walk. Once he's soothed to sleep, find a quiet spot to take a break yourself. I recommend parking the stroller in the back corner of a quick-service dining location like
Columbia Harbour House or
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe. If your son prefers to be held to sleep soundly, head to
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover or
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor for a little snooze!
Whatever you do, be sure to schedule your toddler's in-park nap around
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade schedule. He'll just love this holly jolly parade! It's currently scheduled for noon and 3:00 PM on Christmas day. You won't want to miss it!
I hope this was helpful, Ashley. I'm wishing you a magical and merry visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
