My husband and I will be visiting in early December. He uses an electric folding wheelchair. How does admission to the rides work? Is there any priority access? Are there special entrances

    Hello, Susan!

I have traveled to Walt Disney World with my elderly parents on many occasions, and I have always found the cast members to be so helpful in making sure that my family members have been able to enjoy shows and attractions despite being in a wheelchair.

Walt Disney World uses something called a Disability Access Services Card for guests who otherwise would be unable to wait in the lines with other guests. Almost all of the queues at the Walt Disney World attractions can accommodate a wheelchair, so you and your husband could just go through the regular line, but if it's more difficult for your husband to wait in the line, the DAS card can help. You'll go to the cast member at the attraction, and they will assign you a return time that is within about 10 minutes of the wait time of the attraction. You can then go and do some shopping, grab a bite to eat, or even visit another attraction before returning at your assigned time.

The DAS card works in conjunction with FastPass+, so you'll still want to take advantage of the opportunity to make those FastPass+ times. That will also help minimize your wait.

Have an absolutely magical vacation, Susan!
