My husband and I will be visiting Disney world in October 2013 with our son,10yr and daughter, 6yr. Would you recommend dinner dinning at Be Our Guest restaurant or at Cinderella's Castle? It sounds like there is only one character at BOG (Beast)?

Hi Barbara! Both of these dining locations in the Magic Kingdom are sought after and reservations go quickly. Be prepared to hit the phone or computer at your 180 day window so you won't be disappointed and miss the opportunity for one or the other.

Be Our Guest is the newest restaurant and is very popular because it is new. You can only make reservations for dinner and lunch is walk up. There will only be one character for dinner who is the Beast. he will come out and walk around the dining room and then settle in a back area where guests are able to get pictures taken with him once they have finished dining. The dining rooms are elegant with high tech touches.  The children's menu is not always considered family friendly but menus do change so please check the latest before making your final decision. The last time I was there they only offered grilled fish, grilled chicken, steak, turkey meatloaf, and marinara pasta on the kids menu. My little grandkids wouldn't eat any of that and I so longed for the choice of a chicken tender, slice of pizza, grilled cheese, or a meatball! Until the menu changes we likely won't go back as we had to find food later. When on vacation I am just not in the mood to argue over food!

Cinderella's Royal Table children's menu will offer chicken nuggets, beef tenderloin, grilled fish, or cheese pizza making those choices sometimes easier for kids to find culinary happiness. The emphasis will be Cinderella and her friends so the theming is quite different.

I suggest you discuss the menu options of both locations with your children as well as what character(s) they wish to meet and greet and take a vote. Letting them help with some of the vacation decisions is a great way to get them involved and happy once they arrive!
