My husband and I are visiting Disney the first week of May to celebrate our 6th Anniversary, however, vacation scheduling means we are visiting 3 weeks prior to our actual anniversary (May 22nd). Can we still get any of the anniversary perks?

    Rebecca:

My husband and I could not schedule a trip for our 15th Anniversary until MONTHS afterward last year, so I'm thinking three weeks is nothing for you guys! No one at Disney will ask you to show your marriage license. Promise!

Keep in mind that if YOU'RE celebrating something, so is Disney.  So make sure and tell the reservationist it's your anniversary both when you book your room and when you make your dining reservations.  When you arrive, request an anniversary button at the hotel.  If they are out, stop at Guest Services at the first park you visit AND always wear the button.  Remember: Cast Members are accommodating, but they can't read your minds! Let folks know you're celebrating!

As for perks, they are random, and I've learned to sport my button and see what happens. For us, we received a special call from Mickey at The American Pavilion at Epcot and I nearly cried. Later, we were escorted in to its movie before other guests. At one dinner, our server acknowledged our special day, at another, nothing was said. You simply never know when a little pixie dust will come your way!

Wishing y'all a magical vacation and memorable anniversary!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
