Hello Julie, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.
I took a trip last fall to the Walt Disney World Resort with my fellow panelists and needed to use an ECV during my stay. My
ECV was rented from one of Disney’s featured providers. They will deliver to and pick it up from your Resort Hotel. The rooms at All Star Sports are big enough to fit an ECV inside the room. You may want to have a note placed on your reservation to request a room on the first floor to make it easier to get into an out of your room.
When you are waiting for a bus to take you to your destination for the day, you will notice there is a handicapped symbol in front of the loading queue. Everyone in your travel party will wait with your husband. He will be loaded first and then you and the remaining members of your party will board the bus prior to everyone else in line. This will allow the driver to secure the ECV on the bus while it is empty. When you are returning to your resort after a day in the parks or Disney Springs, you will wait in the designated area to board there too. Keep in mind there are also
ECV equipped Minnie Vans too. Typically, you would request a Minnie Van through the Lyft app. I would suggest calling the Minnie Van service at (407) 828-3500 and let the Cast Member know that you need an accessible Minnie Van to pick you up. The ECV accessible Minnie Van can carry up to 4 guests including the ECV. The one-way fee is $25, but keep in mind that pricing is subject to change. If you have any more questions before you arrive, please come back and visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
