Hi, my husband and I are using the dining plan for the first time and I know we each get a dessert, but what if one of us would rather have an appetizer? Can we switch the dessert for the appetizer? Or what if we are too full for the dessert?

    Hi Renee,

Thanks for your question about the Disney Dining Plan.  My family loves using the Disney Dining Plan while on vacation.  It has been our experience that you cannot switch a dessert for an appetizer when using a dining plan credit.  You could certainly order an appetizer, but it would show up on your bill as an additional charge.  Typically, I'm never hungry after a delicious dinner at a table service restaurant so what I do is request a takeout box for the dessert included with my dining plan.  Cast members are always happy to package up your dessert so that you can take it back to your Disney resort and enjoy it later.  These make excellent late night snacks!

Don't hesitate to post additional questions if there's anything more I can explain about using the Disney Dining Plan.

Wishing you a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
