Ahoy, Elizabeth! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney about setting sail where magic meets the sea. My husband also uses a CPAP machine, so I understand the difficulties that can sometimes arise when traveling with one. But there is absolutely no need to worry because Disney Cruise Line has everything that you need for your husband’s
medical device.
Since each ship’s staterooms are slightly different, you will have to see if the electrical outlets next to the bed will be sufficient for his CCAP machine once you are already onboard. While my husband has needed an extension cord on some sailings, he hasn’t needed one on others. It really does depend on the ship and the layout of your particular stateroom, including the position of the electrical outlets. If you find that you do need an extension cord or outlet adaptor of some kind to accommodate his medical device, then just stop by the
Guest Services Desk and they will be happy to assist you. They will let you borrow the necessary item for the length of your sailing and it is completely free of charge as long as you return it to Guest Services before disembarking.
It sounds like you already filled out the
Special Services Information Form to formally request the distilled water that he also needs for his CPAP machine, so it should already be noted on your reservation. Based on my experience, his distilled water will either already be waiting in your stateroom or your stateroom host or hostess will make sure to get it to you on embarkation night. In the past, they always brought a whole gallon to the room, but we actually received regular sized water bottles containing distilled water on our most recent sailing. If the distilled water isn’t in your stateroom by bedtime for some reason or you end up needing more, you can always get it from the Guest Services Desk.
I hope this eases your concerns and allows you to focus on the much more fun parts of preparing for your upcoming Disney cruise. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out to planDisney. Happy sailing!
