Hi there Wanda, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for sharing your question with us. It sounds like you’re planning such a special celebration for your husband’s 70th birthday by bringing the whole family together at Walt Disney World Resort. With a group of 14 traveling during the holiday season, it’s a wonderful idea to look ahead at what offers may be available and how to make planning as smooth as possible so everyone can enjoy the magic.

Traveling from December 27nd through January 2nd will put you right in the heart of Disney's holiday season, which is one of the busiest and most festive times of the year. Vacation packages that bundle resort rooms, tickets, and dining are available and can simplify planning, especially for a large group. Disney has already opened bookings for 2026, so now is a good time to lock in accommodations and tickets before availability gets limited.

For help with planning, you can work directly with Disney’s Tickets and Reservations or use an authorized Disney travel planner. Although planDisney Panelists can’t connect you directly with a travel agent, working with one is a fantastic way to simplify and maximize your Disney vacation planning! To find one, just search for “Authorized Disney Vacation Planner” online. This term will help guide you to travel agencies that have been specially designated by The Walt Disney Company. These experts know all the ins and outs of Disney travel and can assist with everything from booking your Resort hotel and theme park tickets to making dining reservations and suggesting experiences tailored to your family.

The best next step is to decide whether you’d like to book directly with Disney or through a travel planner. From there, you can look into resort options that will fit your group’s size and budget.

The My Disney Experience App is another essential tool for navigating your trip. You can link your hotel and ticket reservations, make dining reservations, and even mobile order food at quick service locations. The app provides real time attraction wait times and allows you to check into dining reservations without waiting in line. The Family & Friends list is especially useful for a group of 14, since you can link everyone’s accounts to make plans together, book experiences, and coordinate your park days more smoothly.

Since you’ll be visiting during one of the busiest weeks of the year, it’s a good idea to plan to arrive at the parks early each day, make use of mobile ordering to save time, and schedule some breaks to rest and enjoy your resort. Booking early and organizing your plans through My Disney Experience will help your celebration go smoothly and let you focus on enjoying this milestone trip with your family.

Wanda, I hope this gives you confidence as you start planning your husband’s 70th birthday celebration at Walt Disney World with your family. By booking early, organizing your resort and ticket reservations, and using the My Disney Experience App to coordinate your group, you’ll be set to enjoy the parks smoothly and make the most of your time together. Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question, and I wish you a magical trip filled with laughter, special moments, and memories your whole family will treasure for years to come!
