My husband and I are trying to plan our first trip next year with our two daughters (they will be 4.5 and 1.5 at the time of the visit). Any suggestions on what resorts to stay at?

    Hi, there!

Welcome to planDisney, Jennifer. I'm so excited that you're beginning to plan a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! And with little ones in tow! It's my pleasure to help you plan a magical stay.

When you're a Guest of the Disney Resorts Collection, you stay IN the magic, even after you've left the theme parks. Guests of the Disney Resorts Collection also get to enjoy special perks like Early Theme Park Entry and complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks. The unique amenities at Disney Resort hotels truly make traveling with little ones a breeze! With over 30 options to choose from, selecting a Disney Resort hotel for your stay can be a bit overwhelming. Let's chat about finding the perfect fit for your family's unique needs, interests, and budget!

Disney's Art of Animation Resort features larger-than-life Characters throughout the resort and themed rooms, placing you right in the middle of your favorite Disney and Pixar films. My family loves this budget-friendly hotel for its immersive atmosphere and its convenient access to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios with Disney Skyliner Transportation. And did I mention the pools? My kids could spend all day swimming with Nemo and friends in The Big Blue Pool.

If your little girls love Disney Princesses as much as my 4-year old daughter does, then consider Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. You'll enjoy lots of Southern hospitality at this unique Disney Resort hotel! Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has two sections; the rustic Alligator Bayou section and the stately Magnolia Bend section. The rooms in the Alligator Bayou section are inspired by The Princess and the Frog with fun nods to the film. Some buildings in Magnolia Bend feature Royal Guest Rooms. These rooms are fit for a princess with special headboards that create a magical fireworks display! How fun is that?

For a splurge, I recommend Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This Disney Resort hotel is one of my family's favorites for lots of reasons! We love the laidback tropical vibe and its convenient access to Magic Kingdom Park. My kids also rank the Lava Pool as one of the best pools in all of Walt Disney World Resort! The rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort were recently updated and now feature a Moana theme. My daughter can't wait to check them out!

I suggest exploring the Disney Resorts Collection on the Walt Disney World Resort website. When you find a hotel you're interested in, add it to your online cart. Once you've added Theme Park Tickets and any extras like Memory Maker, head to the checkout page. On the checkout page, you'll see the Vacation Package Comparison Tool. This handy tool allows you to add up to three vacation offers to your online cart so that you can compare them side by side. I've found the side by side comparisons to be super helpful in helping me decide on the right Disney Resort hotel for my family's next stay.
