My husband I would like to treat ourselves to a nice dinner from Epcot, but our kids will likely not want to eat the same thing. Do any Epcot table service restaurants offer take out orders we can bring back to our room?

    Hiya Tiffany,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are honored that you have come back to visit us for help with your Walt Disney World Resort question. As a mom of two under 4, I can definitely relate to your question. We have been known to skip a table-service location because we were worried our littles would make it impossible for us to eat (much less enjoy) a meal. We usually end up either booking character dining, waiting until we can bring a pair of grandparents with us so we can sneak away, or trying the strategy you mentioned. One of my favorite memories is him and I enjoying a delicious Steakhouse 71 meal together in our resort hotel room while it rained and out kids took a nap.

Typically, Tiffany, if you look in the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can find table service locations that offer to-go dining under “Order Food.” Currently, most of those are located within some of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. For example, Ale and Compass Restaurant offers to-go currently (which might be an excellent option for you due to its proximity to EPCOT and how yummy it is), but that can always change. I reached out to a Cast Member, and they said that not all table-service locations are set up to offer to-go ordering, which is why you don’t see any table-service locations for EPCOT, for example. It doesn’t hurt to ask. It is up to the discretion of each table-service location at EPCOT whether they can do to-go orders, so you will need to go to the specific location to inquire further, unfortunately.

While brainstorming, we came up with two options for you. The first is to make a reservation for a location you and your husband would like to try (I have my eye on Le Cellier Steakhouse for my next trip), and let the Cast Member know at check-in that you plan to order your food to go. They can then help you navigate that option, if available. Our second option, and likely the one I would pick if it were me, would be to get a reservation and then head to the check-in podium at least three hours before the reservation. Once at the podium, you can ask the Cast Member whether the location can accommodate to-go ordering and what the process is. If at that point they say they cannot do so, then you would cancel your reservation (it must be cancelled at least 2 hours in advance to avoid the cancellation fee) and then make your plan B. I hope this was helpful, Tiffany, and that you will be able to get a great meal you can enjoy with your husband. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
