    My husband and I are traveling with our 2, 10 year old kids on the Fantasy departing on 12/31. Can you please make some suggestions/tips on excursions for the Disney and St Thomas islands? We have never been on a cruise and are unsure how it all works.

    We are happy to “sea” you with us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. A New Year’s Eve cruise on the Disney Fantasy is the best way to bring in 2017! Your pirate crew is in for a fabulous journey with Disney Cruise Line. I am pleased to make some suggestions on Port Adventures for Castaway Cay and St Thomas.

    Castaway Cay is a stunning island with sugary white sand powdering the beach and crystal blue waters. Families visiting this pleasurable island are amazed not only at its beauty but with all the fun things to do there. Really, you do not need to make any elaborate plans for excursions since so much is included like Castaway Family Beach (complete with chairs, loungers, and umbrellas), sports at In Da Shade Game Pavilion and Grouper Game Pavilion, “splashtacular” water adventures at Spring-a-Leak, and amazing cuisine at Cookies BBQ. If you wish to do extra adventures then for a fee consider snorkeling, tube float rental, bicycle rental, jet ski, and stingray encounters.

    At St. Thomas enjoy snorkeling, a tour of the island, and time at the beach. My family also appreciates walking the dock area next to the ship to shop and explore.  It is easy to reserve your favorite activities for your upcoming cruise. After Online Check-in, go to My Cruise Activities and book your choice. You do not pay for the Port Adventures until the end of the cruise.
