    My husband and I will be traveling with our 10YO daughter and her friend who is also 10. Can they have their own account and charge stuff with their key to the world? We want to assign prepaid credit cards to each girl and they can spend as they want.

    Thanks so much for cruising by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

    It sounds like you have two little girls that will soon be having the time of their lives on a Disney Cruise Line vacation! What fun to be able to share such a magical experience with a friend. They will be making so many amazing memories that will last a lifetime.

    When you complete your Online Check-In before your sailing, you'll be asked to provide a credit card for your stateroom account. At that time, you can also set up charging privileges for guests in your stateroom. When you arrive at the port on Embarkation Day, everyone in your stateroom will be given a Key to the World Card, which will be used as your stateroom key, identification card, and charge card while onboard. If you'd like to associate a different credit card to the Key to the World cards used by the two girls, you'll need to stop by Guest Services once onboard to discuss your request with one of the helpful Cast Members.

    What we do with our daughters is allow them charging privileges (keeping our stateroom account on one credit card), and give them a spending limit per day. Small purchases like specialty coffees or smoothies aren't a big deal, but they have to clear any larger souvenir-type purchases with us. We are able to check our stateroom account balances throughout the cruise if we like, but have so far had no issues with our girls spending over the limits we've given them. It's really just a personal preference how you'd like to set up your stateroom account!
