Hi, Lisa!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you asked about celebrating Mother’s Day at the Disneyland Resort because I did so just last year.
In addition to spending the day enjoying the theme parks with your family, there are typically special fixed-price dining opportunities available at restaurants such as Blue Bayou and Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park, and Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa offers a buffet. Disney’s Royal Mother’s Day Buffet at the Disneyland Hotel’s Grand Ballroom is the most elaborate of the offerings, and I had the pleasure of attending this magical event last May.
A live band played and the elegantly-decorated ballroom was lined with Disney characters. Cinderella (and her carriage!), Tiana, Snow White, Belle, Aurora, Minnie Mouse, and Chip and Dale were all on hand for photos. Moms could even pose on a royal throne for photos with their families. The extensive buffet included a variety of main entrees, traditional breakfast fare (with Mickey-shaped waffles, of course!), made-to-order omelet stations, an artisan cheese display, a seafood bar, and champagne mimosas for the adults. The dessert tables offered a variety of mouth-watering treats, and there was even a freezer cart with ice cream confections like those offered in the theme parks! My son found lots of food he liked at the kids’ buffet, which offered favorites such as mini corn dogs, personal-size pizzas, chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, Mickey-shaped soft pretzels and a variety of fun desserts.
Reservations can be made now for any of the special Mother’s Day dining experiences by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463). I hope this helps, Lisa. Please write back with any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
