Hi! My husband, three daughters (7, 10, and 14), and I are visiting Disney World for the first time in late June. For one night, we are planning at having dinner either at 1900 Park Fare or Crystal Palace. Which one do you prefer and why? Thanks.

    Hi Ashley,

How exciting that your first trip is coming up so soon!  Both Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare are fantastic character dining options.  Here are some thoughts on both to help you decide which to chose:

Crystal Palace is in the Magic Kingdom and is set in a beautiful glass atrium.  It features Winnie the Pooh and his pals from the Hundred Acre Woods (Piglet, Tiger and Eeyore).  The food is served buffet style, and features a wide variety of selections.  This is a great choice for Pooh fans and fabulous if you are in the park and plan to continue seeing attractions before and after your meal, since you won't have to leave and re-enter the park.  You can have breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Palace.

Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare is located at the Grand Floridan.  This resort is absolutely spectacular (it's Disney World's Flagship property, and a visit is absolutely worth while!)  We ate here back in April and my kids loved it.  The buffet featured a cold strawberry soup that my kids slurped up!  As for the characters, they feature Cinderella (of course), Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, Drizella and the Fairy Godmother.

We love both locations.  I'd say the food at 1900 Park Fare offers a slightly bigger selection based on my most recent visits, but the food is great at both.  I'd base your decision on character preferences and whether you will be at the Magic Kingdom at the time you eat.

    Have a great trip!
