Hi, my husband and I are thinking of doing your Cruise on November 20-27 this year to celebrate our daughter’s 5th birthday and Thanksgiving. We want a birthday cake for her (mini size) with Disney character Ariel. Is it possible to order it before?

Ahoy there, Val Jean, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you're considering making a Disney Cruise Line vacation "part of your world" later this year! I love combining celebrations and holidays when sailing, which is a major reason why we like to sail when we do!

I have good news and I have some less good news, but in both cases, you won't have to give up your voice to a sea witch, so that definitely tips the scales to the positive side if you ask me. Haha!

The good news is there are multiple cake options available to pre-order for your cruise through Disney Cruise Line Onboard Gifts! If you ask me, the Celebration Cakes and the Nautical Cakes look and taste amazing - nothing against the Mickey and Minnie Cakes, but there's something about the Celebration cake that just seems a bit fancier!

The less good news is that there are unfortunately no options for cakes that feature Ariel - but don't despair! Since the celebration cakes are a blank canvas, I'd suggest bringing a few Ariel-themed decorations to place on or around the cake - especially since you won't be bringing candles, this could be a great way to add a bit of "The Little Mermaid" flair to your daughter's birthday! Just be sure to order these cakes at least three days before your sail date!

Oh, and once your booking window opens for activities, be sure to look for the Princess Gathering meet-and-greet! These tickets are typically included in the price of your vacation, but are first-come-first-served, so be sure to grab them fast! Appearances during the Princess Gathering meet-and-greet vary, based on a Princess’ personal schedule and by ship however, on nearly every cruise I've been on, Ariel has been included in that group, so it could be a magical way to have your daughter meet her or her friends!

I hope that helps you create some magical memories this November, Val Jean. Thank you so much for sailing my way with your question! If any other whozits and whatzits galore stump you as you start making your plans, please drop me another line!

I don't know when, I don't know how, but I feel your amazing adventure is starting right now!
