My husband and I are taking our 6yr old son to WDW october 1-7, 2011. is there anything you recommend as a "can't miss"? Also, how are the weather & crowds this time of year?

    Hi Stephanie,

Early October is my family's absolute favourite time of year to visit Walt Disney World!

The weather is usually nice and warm with a few scattered showers and crowds are normally very manageable although, as Free Dining has just be offered from 2-8 October 2011, this may impact the crowds somewhat.

There are two special events taking place during your visit which I would consider must-dos:-

1/ Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party which is held on select dates at the Magic Kingdom.
Purchase of an additional event admission ticket is required to attend.
2/ Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot which is included in your standard theme park admission.

Both of these are excellent and well worth experiencing during your stay.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
